As Sinclair awaits approval for the acquisition of Tribune, it’s making big moves on the local TV front and a scandal has broken out as journalists and reporters expose the iron-clad contracts that the company is using to reportedly make news anchors say and read Pro-Trump talking points.
It’s apparently telling TV stations to air pro-Trump messages and anti-media talking points using the company’s “must-run,”/Must-See segments. These segments are dictated to local anchors by Sinclair bosses and Executives. Since Sinclair’s conservative policies are well known in the industry, it has affected it’s purchase of Tribune Media and their silence on this scandal is not doing them any favors.
Sinclair’s practice has been exposed thanks to a viral video that spliced together dozens of Sinclair anchors reading the same script about the so-called “fake news,” media. A happy Trump tweeted about the script this morning:
“We’re concerned about the troubling trend of irresponsible, one-sided news stories plaguing our country,” reads the script. “The sharing of biased and false news has become all too common on social media. More alarming, some media outlets publish these same fake stories . . . stories that just aren’t true, without checking the facts first.
“Unfortunately, some members of the media use their platforms to push their own personal bias and agenda to control exactly what people think. This is extremely dangerous to our democracy.”
So is this cult-like brainwashing like liberals are thinking or is it really harmless concern for one-sided reporting? Something tells me it’s not so innocent.
