History Channel’s Amelia Earhart Documentary Debunked After Ratings Win

Clocking in at nearly a million viewers on Sunday night, History’s AMELIA EARHART: THE LOST EVIDENCE, seems to be another tantalizing conspiracy concocted for the sole purpose of ratings grab. It seems that these days History is going the way of Discovery. Some may recall that after Discovery’s sister station Animal Planet aired a documentary about Mermaids, it lost a whole lot of credibility.

Dubbed as, “the biggest government cover-up of all time,” the recent “evidence” uncovered by History was easily debunked by two bloggers on the internet! Turns out the blurry photo that apparently depicts Earhart and her navigator that was used for the whole basis of the conspiracy theory may have been taken two years before Earhart’s plane left the ground for her final flight.

History’s statement on the matter? They say they are investigating the claims being made against them, and that “Ultimately historical accuracy is most important to us and our viewers.”
