The Emmy Award Winning Mini-Series American Crime looks to come back for a fourth season and it wants to focus on Women in the workforce.
The always weighty series deals in hard to talk about subjects like immigration, slavery, or sexuality in the twenty-first century. How various different people are affected by grueling situations that they find themselves in. The cool thing about American Crime is that they use the same cast each season, but they switch up their roles and no one actor/actress plays the same character in the next season.
The current season focuses much on the topic of slavery and its many forms. Even going so far as to highlight how marriage can for some feel like slavery. The kicker is, it takes place in North Carolina which has seen its fair share of controversies as of late. The bosses note that there is a story that needs to be told about the sexual harassment issues women face daily in the workplace, and I can’t think of a better venue to tell that story, than American Crime. Uber and Fox News were some of the inspirations for the narrative of season 4.
But ABC might have other ideas, it’s unclear if American Crime will be renewed for a fourth season. The ratings for season 3 have not been that good, but that doesn’t mean they can’t shop this idea to other networks… or Netflix.
